IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), is an international test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. IELTS is the only English Language Test approved by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for visa candidates applying from both outside and inside the UK. They must complete the ‘academic version’ of the IELTS, according to the NMC’s requirements.
There are 2 types of tests, recognised by the NMC in checking the English language proficiency of every overseas applicant who is from non-native English speaking country. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), is an international test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. IELTS is the most recognized among the two and academic module of IELTS is necessary for NMC.
NMC Conducts Tests of Competence
The NMC conducts tests of competence to check the professional capacity of every applicant to work independently without errors and within the time frame with utmost care patient safety and personal safety. There are only two tests of competence conducted by the NMC:
  • CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)
Visa Procedure
Dependent Visa If you are holding Work Visa in the UK, your spouse will have all the rights to live and work in the UK. They will have all rights to do any job in the UK. Your dependent children can have a free education in the UK. Documents required for a dependent visa application:
  • Passport
  • Police clearance check from all the countries (if the duration of stay is over 1 year)
  • Birth Certificate (Children)
  • Marriage Certificate (married partners)
  • Accommodation proof in the UK (Tenancy Agreement)
  • Employment confirmation letter from your Employer or COS
  • Tuberculosis test report (not applicable for all nationalities)
